TRC provided structural engineering, mechanical engineering, and structural steel detailing services for the new replacement Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The six-level facility totaled approximately 378,000 gross square feet, with an additional 16,000-square-foot Central Energy Plant. The Emergency Room entrance was elevated above grade, serving as the roof structure for the Central Energy Plant below - a design feature requiring careful structural coordination.

The hospital was designed to accommodate the future addition of a medical office building, ensuring long-term campus flexibility.

An Early Steel Detailing approach was implemented to accelerate project delivery. Structural steel shop drawings were developed beginning at the design development phase using the structural RAM model prepared by the structural engineering team. This integrated process allowed shop drawings to be released for fabrication approximately one month after issuance of the structural steel shell package, supporting schedule efficiency and streamlined coordination.

The completed facility delivered a modern healthcare environment supported by coordinated structural and mechanical systems and an accelerated steel detailing workflow.
